French cuisine consists of the cooking traditions and practices from France. Developed throughout the centuries influenced by the many surrounding cultures of Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium, in addition to its own food traditions on the long western coastlines of the Atlantic.
It was made important in the 20th century by Auguste Escoffier to become the modern haute cuisine, Escoffier. However, left out much of the local culinary character to be found in the regions of France and was considered difficult to execute by home cooks.
Renaissance Hotels is a luxury hotel brand of Marriott International. Founded in 1981 as Ramada Renaissance, an upscale brand of Ramada Inns. In 1989 the brand was relaunched as Renaissance Hotels. It was bought by Marriott in 1997. As of December 31, 2018, it has 175 hotels with 55,099 rooms.
